In 2 halves. Each half is mobile with the hopper section consisting of a 4ft flat extension with vario speed belt being cleated to help the spud movement up to the star cleaner which has its own independently powered side belt. The next half of the machine starts with the screen module, currently fitted with a rubber screen with undersize dropping through to side belt, again individually powered. Crop then passes onto the full width roller table where pickers have proper stands and waste is directed down to a reject conveyor. The whole machine is powered by 3 phase electrics. From my initial observations of these units in a static state, all belts are in good order, could be tracked to run more centrally and whilst the machine had some age it aslo, like myself has plenty of go left in it!! Here in South Lincolnshire we have the "Full Monty" of all graders from a grower who has drastically downsized so this Herbert 8ft grader is for sale which comprises a fully covered mobile system to include hopper, presentation belt, hydraulically powered Evo-Sep style cleaner with its own power pack, screen grader with spare screens. Crop then passes onto a separate, mobile, 7ft inspection area. All the usual side conveyors, waste elevators are included.

Located in Norfolk near Kings Lynn is this 2020 Tong 1800 wide grader. For sale as a result of the owner updating.
It consists of an intake hopper with height sensor and optional front board for forklift box tipping to feed. Crop then passes onto the infeed belt for the 6 rows.
Evolution/ EasyClean separation system with 8mm flutes. Thereafter 4 rows of manually adjustable spools aid the cleaning/sizing at this stage before the crop passes onto the inspection area with its flat belts and turning rollers. Thereafter sizing module follows with crop finally passing onto a freestanding crop cross conveyor. The whole machine is controlled from the one control console which will detect which e m stop button might have been activated.
Delivered from Tong into this shed it is exceptionally presentable and has been well maintained. A modern spec machine and a credit to the current operators. Click here to see a video of the grader operating.

Built in '97 for this customer for yard use hence the frame and canopy, it had always been used in shed as photographed. The specification included for an 8ft flat hopper extension allowing for trailer side tipping. Hopper belt is variable speed with crop dropping onto a web cleaning module for soil extraction with low level side belt under. The following grading module is an extended version using a slightly longer screen but ensuring better grading.
Particularly suited to seed grading. Inspection area is with turning rollers and a central trough for waste whereby waste is deposited down onto the side belt at the end of the inspection area. Picking stands and lights complete the Tong element of this mobile grader. All crop carrying sections are variable speed. A big machine that offers exceptional value for money because under the dust it can be seen to have been well maintained. Located Mid Lincs.

2005 Tong Grader
Removed from a permanent position in a shed on this South Lincs farm is this 2005 Tong grader. Principally acquired for simple seed/onion grading is how it was used until June 2025 when on-farm system was updated to give split grading capabilities. Generally dismantled and moved to its current position where it would benefit from a wash to remove some of the gathering greenery and the residual soil but otherwise a very tidy, well looked after bit of kit comprising of:
4ft wide belt in the hopper with its 8ft flat extension and front board, gives greater holding capacity when fed with tipper or front bucket. Belt is varispeed by 3 phase inverter in control box with control on the independent box which can be seen in the hopper. Crop is then passed onto a 3ft wide web cleaner with covered bars. After the web cleaner is the 3ft screen module with mechanical varispeed drive and independent varispeed agitation, long tuber handling device and a reversible side table for graded smalls. A separate roller table with its motor and subframe is part of the setup.
As can be seen, some electrical reconnections will need to be made but my observations indicate that all major components are present and the competitive price reflects an electricians input is required but mechanically it's in good order.

V-Track conveyor, automator and stitcher with feed in belts. V-track is adjustable for height to suit different height bags and the inclined bag elevator is part of the kit. Both items in very good condition. They were made redundant when the farm bought palletising equipment which included integral weighing and stitching equipment. Located near Spalding, South Lincs.

Just finished with on this family farm in Cheshire. It easily loads a bulker in under an hour I am told. 3 phase electrics, no centre brush but good discharge belt and a straight machine. Ok it's got a bit of age but the tank's not rotting and it can go straight to work. Located in Cheshire.

This Haith destoner precedes the Peal washer on this Co.Down (Nth Ireland) farm where carrots are no longer grown and processed. Whilst I have received these photos from my customer I have total trust these photos represent tidy serviceable equipment ready to be used by a new owner for whatever root crop is to be processed.
